'tis my opinion that presents a security risk. An alias will hide the
actual username from the internet.

Subject: [SLUG] user's name

I tried to add a new user to my system with a dot (period) in his name
(like jim.smith) but /usr/sbin/useradd does not allow this.
Some of my books say it should be "adduser" or some such.
I simply wanted to have the same user name as the E-mail name.
Is this a Slackware or a LINUX or an UNIX restriction?
I used a hyphen, but I'm not happy. Any way around this?
