True.

There's an interesting fact about electricity that is confusing to some.
It does not travel the path of least resistence. It travels ALL POSSIBLE
paths. Not to be confused with a thicker cable being able to deliver more
power than a thin one.

So lightning will go everywhere it can and then jump to some it couldn't.
The AC outlet is built to bridge voltages over 600V to the ground prong.
Imagine the arcing capabilities of thousands of volt compared to that.
