I have to use a (6 foot?) VGA extension cable because of the relative
placement of my computer and monitor. At first I had a cheapo extender
(Belkin?), and I had ghosting (~9 pixels at 1536x1152). Bought a decent
cable from a place that sold mainly cables, no more ghosting.

So this is not directly related to the choice of adapters, but if the
total cable length gets long, make sure they're all of good quality.
