Here's what I found on their site:

Optional Add-Ons:

DIRECTV — Additionally, as a Verizon Freedom customer, you're also
eligible for savings on DIRECTV® programming. DIRECTV programming and
service features access to more than 225 available channels of
entertainment. DIRECTV offers channels for every member of the family
and packages to fit any budget. Discounts begin with the TOTAL CHOICE®
with Local Channels package which brings you even more movies, music,
children's networks, family programming and local channels — over 130
channels at a great value.

The goal in offering fiber service is definately to gain more of a
market share and if they can help push that along by offering
discounts to remove cable companies completely from households all the
better. Personally I've been using satelllite for 2+ years now and
would never switch back to cable tv. If Verizon can package my
local/long distance/internet and get me a further discount on
DirecTV(which I already use) it gives me more incentive to drop
Brighthouse as my internet provider.
