It's a company that makes a compatibility layer that wraps around the windows
drivers that came with the CD that came with your purchased card. You
install their software (they have deb packages for you), then you copy your
CD Windows driver files to a folder they specify, then you go to a fancy web
page and activate it. Your card is supported, but then again your card
should also work fine in Linux without native Windows drivers. It's free for
30 days, then there's a one time $20 cost if you want to keep it. There's an
open source version of this project called ndiswrapper.
