Do you have another Linux box running that can read a DVD?
When I got SUSE 9.1 DVD I only had an external DVD drive available that
I could not get
to boot. I read the disk from my multiboot Xandros and found that the
DVD had ISO's
of the boot and module floppies I might need. SUSE had good instructions
on how to make
them from Windows or Linux.
I had trouble Installing Xandros on my wife's desktop, and had success
when I booted it with
the boot floppy ISO the they included.
I think most distros will include Boot Floppy disk ISO's the burn a boot
floppy disk.
