Dealer at the recent computer show (State Fairgrounds) sold me a couple
of Dell GX-1, everything except the HD, 128 RAM, P-II 400 MHz, forty
bucks
each, and you can get a 10 gig HD at Quicksilver for about $25 or so.
He even flashed a new rev of the BIOS for me (also to show that they
worked).

Hold a

Firewall works, IDS. Run tcpdump in a term window and keep an eye on
your
net connection. Run a browser with knoppix/firefox and avoid viruses.
Use
them as cheap end-points when setting up a cisco CCNA lab to test
routing etc.
