Geez,

   I am suprized at you guys ! We stand around
singing the praises of Linux and how it can run on
just about anything, and what a wonderful OS it is,
and then talk about how useless a piece of hardware is
just because its not the latest 64-bit processor.

  THis "boat anchor" that you are talking about would
be just fine for a standard desktop usage box. What
you need to do is install your favorite distro on it
and configure it with lighter weight applications.
Its not that much work to do, OR you could choose
another distro like Damn Small Linux that comes with
tiny apps built in.

  Using things like Fluxbox, Siag, Scite, Ted, Dillo
or Firebird., There are TONS of choices out there for
what would otherwise by M$ standards be a Boat Anchor.
