Nope. P&CL was designed to keep people from having to make decisions, so
it's strictly KDE. The more advanced ProMEPIS, now in beta, offers more
software alternatives.
BTW, I would advise any Mepis user to d/l and use Synaptic now. It
sucked in August, when we had to lock down SimplyMEPIS to meet Prentice
Hall's "speed of a snail on tranks" production cycle, but has gotten
much better since then.
