Parition magic and a few other tools do not delete what is on the
resized partition. Though it reccomened that you defragment the
parition before resizing and then making the new partition from the end
part of the old partition. Defragment saves partition magice from
having to movie files to different spots on the hard drive as much. and
that is usually when you get a missing or corrupt file with that tool
when it has to move too much around to make the new partition.
