You can always re-compile your kernel and add in "write" support. I
know, it's supposed to be "experimental," but I've yet to have any
problems with it. (WinXP, NTFS).

If you have unpartitioned space, then the easiest way is to simply
format the partition with either FAT32 or VFAT (which ever, its just
about the same in the end). If you don't have unpartitioned space, you
can either (a) repartition the space using something like Partition
Magic (other tools I've seen -- and someone please correct me here if
I'm wrong -- tend to delete everything in the partition you've just
re-sized), or (b) buy yourself another hard drive, partition that as
FAT32, and back up EVERYTHING (not just your homework) there.
