RAM is the easiest and cheapest thing to test, however I have seen a
memory controller (loves on the north bridge with the exception of the
AMD64) cause problems like that. Swapping boards is a royal PITA, so
yes, test the ram with a current version of memtest to make sure. Like
other have said, test each DIMM individually, and try memory that has
never seen that box.
