In the United States it is apparently legal to distribute the source,
but if you use it for decrypting in order to copy you definitely run
afowl of the DMCA. If you're using it simply so you can watch DVDs
that you own on your Linux desktop then you likely have a valid defense
(that said with the caveat that IANAL).
