A collegue of mine who sold DVD's for a living, discovered that only 1/3 of
the home electronic players were able to play computer made DVDs.

I've not tried myself even though I have both. (Note to self: try burning a
DVD and test it in the living room.)

It would not surprise me, if all that is needed, is to ensure a particular
format is followed. His "discoveries" basically made it a pain to mass
produce DVDs.
