No flames from me. After testing damn near all major brand laptops,
VA/OSTG has settled on IBM Thinkpads. They're stodgy and not cheap, but
they're the most durable ones we've found.

We tried Viaos and had much breakage -- generally things like keys
falling off or CD/DVD drawers that stopped staying closed. They *ran*
fine but were not physically durable.

I have a much-abused 3-year-old Toshiba Satellite 1410 that has traveled
with me to four continents. It's ready for a new battery, but other than
that and (esthetic) keyboard wear, it has no problems.

We have a number of employees who have personal Mac laptops, but they
have not been as reliable as the IBM products -- or even as relaible as
my Toshiba, which will probably be replaced by a Thinkpad within the
next year.
