My only complaint with the likes of HP, Compaq, and
Dell are that their laptops are quite hefty.

The MTECH is a Clevo laptop. Clevo has been used in
the past for Dell and HP.
The only catch you have is the amount of replacement
parts (i.e. Battery) that is readily available in the
area. Asus also makes some nice laptops.
