[SLUG] pg.o

I have a Canon A95 digital camera, and I'm trying to mount it using
usb-storage. But, I get a message in /var/log/messages that says:

Jul 31 17:30:33 pc modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-97
Jul 31 17:30:33 pc last message repeated 3 times

Google says I should add

alias char-major-97 pg

to /etc/modules.conf . I did (and ran depmod), but turns out pg.o wasn't
compiled (I have 2.4.29). I found a binary copy of it with the
vendor-supplied (i.e., much older) kernel, but don't know where in "make
menuconfig" to find it. I'm hesitant to just enable CONFIG_AMD_OHCI_OK in
.config for fear it might have dependencies. Anybody know where it is? OR
Is there a way to get stuff off this camera without it? For now, I guess
I'll put its CF card in my reader.
