If anyone is using Fedora Core 4 and has installed java via jpackage
from this link or similar instructions
{http://fedoranews.org/mediawiki/index.php/JPackage_Java_for_FC4 } and
is having tomcat fail then read on.

The jpackage install for java is breaking the tomcat5 package. The
errors you get look something like this :
/usr/bin/rebuild-jar-repository: error: could not find jta Java
extension for this JVM
/usr/bin/rebuild-jar-repository: error: All detected jars were not found
for this jvm
The problem is jta is a symbolic link to libgcj. I could not find any
information. So this is mostly to have out there so at least it will
come up on a google search.

Download libgcj-jta-4.0.0-1.src.rpm package from
{https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-java-list/2005-March/msg00023.html
} .
rename /usr/share/java/libgcj-4.0.1.jar libgcj-4.0.0.jar and
make sure you have gcc-java-4.0.0 at least .
rebuild using "rebuild --rebuild --nodeps" .
then install the rpm.

This works as of 8/11/05 with updated FC4
