What do you like about Slackware that you wish you had more of? What do you not
like about Slackware that you wish you could improve? How can a new distro make
inroads with the business desktop market?

Slack Addict.com is putting out a general Request for Comments for a new
Slackware-based distro that we are going to create. We love Slackware and want
to make it better which is why we are asking everyone, who uses Slackware or
not, to give us feedback about what you want out of a new distro that is not
offered in any other distro.

The direction where we would like to take our distro focuses on a business
desktop that is equally easy to use for home users. That way, the same distro
you use at work could be also used at home.

Our initial goals:

* Make Slackware easier to install and use to appeal to the new generation of
Linux users.
* Build a better Slackware Package Management or integrate an easier to use,
automatic package management software such as slapt-get.
* Release schedule of 6 months between major releases.
* Integrated bug reporting and tracking for your reported bugs!
* Online support community with phone support as a paid subscription option.

And, we are a community! New features will be solicited from the users and
integrated into future releases.

We sincerely appreciate your support for this ambitious new project. If you
wish to contribute your time, we will need documentation created, translators,
programmers and testers. If you wish to contribute to our fund, please use the
PayPal Donate link to the left. All funds will be used for the support of our
organization. Hardware support is always welcomed (loaners or donations).

Our first release, Milestone One will be released in June 2006.
