This looks average, my Seagate 120gb drive shows this
/dev/hda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 130 MB in 3.02 seconds = 43.00 MB/sec
While I have a four 200gb SATA stripped and mirrored hardware raid as my
storage drive, connected to a LSI Megaraid SATA controller 64bit/66Mhz
which gives these readings:
/dev/sda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 236 MB in 3.01 seconds = 78.39 MB/sec

Either a slave cdrom or a 40 pin cable could be the culprit. Check for a
second device and the cable type (40 pin or 80 pin).
