[SLUG] Fonts, X11, QT

Hi,

I have two different computers. One is running SuSE 9, the other is running
Debian - Sarge, I think. I have a program written using the QT library. On
SuSE, the text that the program displays looks fine. The text fits within
the areas I want it to, and life is good. On Debian, however, the text is
bigger (relatively speaking). By this I mean that the same text takes up
more space on the screen on Debian, so it overruns the areas where it is
supposed to fit.

I thought perhaps there was a font issue, so I copied over all the font
directories from my SuSE machine to my Debian machine, changed the XFree86-4
config file to make sure it pointed to all these font directories, but to no
avail.

So, I'm not sure what is causing this situation. The program and the QT
libraries are both compiled on the SuSE machine but I don't know if that
would make a difference.

What might cause such a scenario?
