You can get into the router with your browser by pointing to its
address. Default password is admin, I think,
and you don't need a user name.

Check the status and see if the router has an ip and nameservers from
the cable company. If not, you can try to renew the router ip.

You can also download the latest firmware from linksys, or if your
router is not the very latest version, alternative
firmware such as dd-wrt.
