I don't think it will. It hasn't yet. As long as it doesn't cause a
noticeable impediment to users, they'll put up with it. The political
and technical issues are beyond most users, and they don't want to get
embroiled in them. Most people (perhaps unfortunately) are not
principle-driven. They just want what they want. As long as Microsoft
and the RIAA can provide that to them without too much hassle, they
won't worry about it.
