Woah, that shouldn't be right! I've always used firefox with wireless.

I'm assuming this is something distro specific (are you using SuSE on
both comps?), and I'm sure there's a fix. I suggest popping a good
livecd such as Knoppix (http://knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html) in
and see if that detects your wireless; maybe google (sorry, use the
Google(R) search engine) for solutions, or contact SuSE's support.

A Google search reveals a conflict with KNetworkManager (never used it
myself) at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=472478
... and that's the only one that shows up on the first page (search
terms: SuSE wireless firefox "work offline")
