Radius is use for that type of sign in system.

You got a couple of options...

Perosnally I do this

turn off access points routing functions and dhcp server and use it as a
dhcp fowarder
setup a pfsense router with radius. ( pfsense being a bsd based router )
Got to think monowall but it actually gets updated constantly.

Options two ( little more of a pita to do but can all be done from one box)

Get a linksys wrt54GL ( the L is important mainly do ot memory size and
radius setup will need it to with out hassle)
remove crappy linksys frimware
install DD-WRT proceed to setup its built in radius functions
