[SLUG] Audio storage and manipulation

I have a question for you audio people out there. I have been looking at the
audio system of the church I attend, it is a stack of CD/DVD,Tape, and
mini-disk players. I would like to replace that whole mess with a computer
and store all of the music on a HD and the be able to call it up as it is
needed, indeed would like to be able to sequence it so that the whole thing
is ready to go, I am going to try to find a touch screen at a reasonable
price so that I can set it up so that all the operator has to do is touch
the music or source in question and off it goes.

Also need to be able to record to disk from mics etc, I have used to usual
audio tools to listent audio files, but figure that what I really want to do is
probably a bit more beyond those tools.

They already have a large board, just would like to put all of the music and
other sound on the HD and not have to worry about a stack of machines and
which one to punch up for the next piece.

To paraphrase my flight instructor;
"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
