I did a re-install from the CD.... I used the text installer this time
and watched
as the machine selected the bits and pieces started the pccard services,
then the network it did some other stuff and then did a apt-get session to
update and pull down some packages, after much disk and network activity
it said the machine was ready to reboot, remove CD and hit <enter>. That
done it machine rebooted. But still no pcmcia,and of course no network...

Not sure what I am not doing right, but I thought for sure I had selected
those packages to install, and the logs say there is pcmcia code in there
but it sure does not cooperate...
