[SLUG] Ubuntu Server "feature"

I notice that when I want to use apt-get to install a app, I have to have the
CD in the CD drive in order to do so. Is there a work around for this one?

I have ssh'd into my machine at home and wanted to install some stuff on
it, but I had removed the server CD (did not think I would need it, besides
if the machine gets rebooted it will go to the CD first, as I have not changed
it back to HDD>CD..)

But regardless why do I need the CD in the machine in order to apt-get
files and install them when I can get them off of the network??
