I ran into the same issue with resolution when one of my 21" monitors started
to not work properly. I ran at 1600x1200 and could not find anything less
than 24" flatpanels that would match both values.

I ended up buying a Samsung for over $600. Having the 16:10 ratio is pretty
nice. Now I just have to justify getting a second one. :) Hopefully the same
model to keep a uniform look. The newer ones have a brushed metal bar at the
bottom which I could do without.

Having used it for a couple of months I'm very happy to have made the
investment as it is a pure pleasure to use. My old CRT now looks pale in
comparison.
