I am home now and I left my Linux laptop at work so can not test until
tomorrow morning. I know that they are TIFF files but not sure if they
are compressed or not. I will try all of the solutions given and see how
they do. I do not need to turn them into pdf's though I wonder at times
why we do not do so. I am trying to remember the product the company
uses for dealing with large amounts of these files, All I remember is
that it was slow, very slow... Most people use the MS document viewer
which opens them just fine.

Again, thanks for the good info, as usual the list comes through for
me.
