[SLUG] ubuntu ERROR 15

I have a box with an AMD 64 processor, 4 gb or RAM, two SATA hd's one a 74
GB WD and the other is a 220 GB Seagate, plenty of fans and a good 500 watt
PS.

I loaded Ubuntu server Ubuntu 7.10 and upon the mandatory reboot after
installation I received the following message. "GRUB loading, please
wait..." followed by ERROR 15.

I then downloaded and installed the desktop version and got the same
results. If there is a problem I suspect it might have something to do with
the SATA HD's.

Would someone be so kind as to direct me to the list that tells me what
these error numbers mean? I haven't loaded Linux since Suse 5.3 and I
thought I'd get back in the swing of it.
