Don't go Wi-Fi unless you need the portability.
If you dont need the portability then forget it.
Wi-Fi introduces additional hardware (and security)
issues as you are beginning to discover the hard way.
Having said that... google "Wi-Fi" and "linux" together.
Hint - eBay stores have served me well.
