Not sure what "Parallels" is (it sounds like some sort of virtual machine
environment) but ways to tell (which I think are "fsu sure") are, when you
shut down Linux, does it shut down the whole machine? When it first boots
from a powered-down state, is it MacOS booting up or Linux?
