They put a junction box on an outside wall (inside the house) and run cat5
from there. They also put a ups on it. I have had FIOS for about a year
with no problems. I was not home when the connection occured, so I do not
know if they used a laptop as I had no windoze machines available. I found a
way that I also run websites with no problem, I change IP's about 3 times a
year. I have no complaints about FIOS.
