I don't know how it got turned off, since it started out on. Gremlins, I
guess. Anyhow, that let Skype run. But it turns out there's a bug in
gspca* (my camera's driver) that only show up on 64-bit AMD systems, like
mine. My luck. Maybe now's the chance to use that 32-bit VM.
