I suspect it is slightly better for protection, but the feel is bad. I doubt
it would be satisfactory. I took the stylus from my old Palm V and ran it
across the protective film on my iPhone. It drags badly and left
indentations. They indentations are slowing going away, but the feel sucks.
I used to use a tiny amount of silicon grease on my Palm V. I would wipe it
all off, which left only the tiniest amount on the surface. The stylus
would glide so smoothly that you wouldn't believe it. I had no issues with
doing this for years.

(Sorry if this gets sent twice -- Alpine jammed when sending, so I "kill
-HUP"ped it.)

For things like that, whose screens can be expected to be touched rather
often, I use clear vinyl, something like 3 mil. It sticks of its own
accord, no wetting or adhesive required. And it's cheap -- pennies per
application, if that much. Eventually stretches / ripples under stylus use.

Is this stuff significantly better?
