This will happen if grub and your BIOS disagree which disk is which.

Did you add/remove/rearrange anything since your install? I've also seen it
when trying to boot from a grub install on a removable USB flash drive. Are
any of your disks external/USB?

At any rate you should be up again by reordering the devices via your BIOS.
You may instead want to generate a grub device map and then switch the
places of hd0 and hd1 or similar.
