Folks,
I have been running SuSE 11.1 now since it came out, there were things I
was happy with but I was also having a lot of issues with the video and
compiz. Well the other day I decided just to "lay new asphalt" so I went in
and re-formated the partition that held all of the system files, and re-loaded
the OS. Prior to that I went into my home directory and deleted all of the
.files saved the one that had all of the firefox formating in it and then I
loaded the whole OS again. Now I have a nice stable system that runs as
I had hopped it would I had to get rid of Pulse Audio as it seems to fight
with everything... Once that was done all else appears to work just fine.

Now if I can just figure out how to get vloopback in the thing I will be most
happy.

Seems like all of those files should be stuffed in some sort of directory under
home so that you can go in and clean them out in one fell swoop. I have
learned again that it is better to start with a clean house than to try to do
the upgrade path, it just does not seem to work all that well.

out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
