[SLUG] Loading Hardware Synthesizers in Puppy Linux 4.3.1

Hi Everybody,

I have three sound cards on an embedded motherboard I hope to use to
power a "Virtual Organ", the better to play organ music. In order to do
this I have to load the card's hardware synths with organ soundfonts.
That part isn't working, arghh!

# modprobe snd-emu10k1-synth
# amidi -l
Dir Device Name
IO hw:0,0 Audigy MPU-401 (UART)
IO hw:0,1 Audigy MPU-401 #2
IO hw:0,2 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:0,3 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:1,0 EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART)
IO hw:1,1 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:1,2 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:2,0 Audigy MPU-401 (UART)
IO hw:2,1 Audigy MPU-401 #2
IO hw:2,2 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:2,3 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
#

It seems to me that this output would tell me where the targets are, but
I can't seem to get the commands. It works ok on the first one, which
doesn't need a specified address, but after that it gets fussy.

asfxload American_Classic_Organ_4.0.sf2 (works, loads the first synth)

asfxload --hwdep=hw:0,3 American_Classic_Organ_4.0.sf2 (trying to load
the second synth, gives an error) "No Emux synth hwdep device is found".

Any ideas?
