Mark wrote me privately to apologize about this breach of list rules.
But we had another incident last week of someone attempting to sell
something on the list (I contacted that person privately about the
matter).

So I thought perhaps I should reiterate: Please don't put employment and
for sale items on the list. We have pages on the SLUG website for these
things:

http://suncoastlug.org/forsale.php
http://suncoastlug.org/jobs.php

There are two main reasons for these rules. First, on most technical
lists like this, job/sales traffic is frowned upon. People complain
because it chews bandwidth and decreases the signal-to-noise ratio of
the list. They're busy and they look to the list for technical answers
and such, and don't want to wade through this kind of off-topic
traffic. Second, in particular jobs traffic can result in threads about
the relative merits of this or that company advertising its jobs. Job
posts shouldn't be matters for debate, but there's nothing to prevent it
on an unmoderated list. Same with sales items, though it happens less
often with them.

There are lists which allow this type of traffic, and their members have
agreed such traffic is worthwhile to have on their lists. This list
wasn't set up that way, and when it's been allowed in the past, I've
gotten complaints.

So please revisit the list rules if you're unfamiliar with or have
forgotten them. They're mailed out at the top of each month, and are
also on the SLUG website.
