RE: RE: [SLUG] Linux certifications

There are number of different vendors that provide exam prep

books, Exam Cram, Sybex, etc. So for me the question is not

where, but which one.

I had access to the Sybex Linux+ Study Guide: Exam XK0-002.

As books go, I guess it was okay for its purpose, but it was not a keeper.

Keeping in mind that while the certification may be a necessary evil,

its worth is still questionable. Therefore, I would try to pay as little as

possible. You might try checking the library via their website, Craigslist

and any other place I could get the book for free or close to it.

Hope this helps.

Where should I get books for the test? EBay or Amazon or another place.

I guess that it is a necessary evil for the time being. For those seeking
any IT certification, (except for the CISCO cert), you have to understand
that it is the price of admission, but it will be your experience,
continuing
education and exposure to various parts of the IT continuum that will carry
you throughout your career.
