Re: [SLUG-POL] California Screaming; was: [svlug] How To Chase People Away From Linux (was: help (fwd)

Here's a Synopsis:

"Unless you know as much as I do, you are not fit to
ask a question."

You know, had I gotten this type of treatment when I
started in Linux, I would have CERTAINLY quit (BeOS
was my favorite OS for a while, and it's still a very
close second). This is on par with those 1337 h4x0rz
and their treatment of those "below" them. Perhaps
this person is such a creature? certainly sounds like
it. Did he ever question as to whether this person
even KNEW the sources to which he could ask the
question, aside from other users? Honestly, this seems
more to me a Microsoft troll than (supposedly) the
person who asked the question. I thought Open Source
was all about freedom of information. If he didn't
want the question to be asked again, perhaps he should
have just given him the links to where the answer(s)
might be found?

I'm sorry, but were I a moderator at this list, this
flamer would have had a VERY WELL DESERVED banning
from the list. There's sucha a thing as freedom of
speech. This, however, crosses the line to assault.

Makes me glad to be in SLUG.
