Using ping -f 192.168.1.xxx to another machine on my SOHO LAN, I got a min
speed of 0.112 ms. This is across a router between two K7's with 10/100
nics. One machine has MDK 8.0 on it, the other is running Win 98.

When I just ping the router
ping -f 192.168.1.1, the minimum speed is more than 3 times higher (0.381
ms). Apparently the router is optimized for passing stuff through, not
answering it directly.

"Thou shalt not kill" is a moral absolute.
