WILD *SS guess: memory. That is, quality of, and possibly shadowing in
the BIOS. I could be completely off base, though.

(This is one reason why I'm not wild about ATX cases. Computers turning
off their own power bothers me. Next thing you know, you'll issue an
'ls' command, and they'll respond, "Go pound sand." ;-)
