I don't know. I have to run PPPoE, and seems that that's just the way that
it's done. Here's my ifconfig setup:

Yes...I think PPPoE is the culprit. I'm afraid to ask earthlink (my isp) for
help, since I'm running Linux, and they want to sell their home networking
package (surprise)....
