Hi Robin,
Just read your "Why _not_ to use Linux" article and had just a couple of
comments/questions I wanted to pose, but not in the feedback/comments
since that would just be a waste of time... (which goes to show that I
fully agree with at least the latter part of your story. :)

Other than proper CMYK colorspace support, what do you see as glaring
drawbacks in using "The Gimp" for full-on DTP?

As far as scanner support goes, have you checked out Vuescan?
(http://www.hamrick.com/) I have agreed in the past that this is a big
sore spot for Linux users, but not since having found this software.
It's commercial, yes, and closed-source, but dammit it works and it
works about a zillion times better than the inappropriately named SANE
stuff does.

And, just as an addendum, I use Windows at times to play games. I'm
still addicted to Diablo II, the various Baldur's Gate editions, Black &
White and Rollercoaster Tycoon. I would LOVE to have any of those
ported to Linux, but I'm not holding my breath. On the other hand, I
play Unreal Tournament and Tribes 2 under Linux all the time and they
run great. That's why there's dual-boot.
