I just went through this about a minute ago. I re-downloaded cups 1.1.14 and
gimp-print-4.2.0. Recompile, reinstall. Restart cupsd, and hit the add
printer thing. Test. Rinse, repeat as needed. I'm not sure what caused your
issue, but I tried to apply a mandrake security update that blew up in my
face. I won't use MandrakeUpdate for security related issues again.

It must be Epson Problem Day (tm).
