Of course, that is just smart business sense on RedHats part. In fact, if
anything, you can argue that they were slow in implementing this solution.

It is common knowledge that certification programs in general are a driver
for sales of products. The more certified engineers you have out there the
greater the market awareness. Engineers will use those solutions that they
are most comfortable with and not necessarily the best solution. I know
plenty of Microsoft Engineers who recomment Microsoft solutions not because
they are the ideal solution but because that is the solution that they are
most comfortable with.

RedHat needs to develop more certified engineers not as an end in itself and
not to identify the best talent but to ensure that they are the first choice
when it comes to designing solutions.

Being a confirmed Slackware user, my suspicions were confirmed today
when I came across this information about Element K LMS software.
Redhat really is trying to emulate Mickey$oft agter all.

Timothy

Element K also provides a complete path of courseware that will prepare
students for the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Certified Exam 302.
Element K RHCE courseware is designed for UNIX and Linux experienced
users, networking specialists and system administrators.
