I'm sad to say that none of the new distros (Redhat 7.3, Debian 3.0)
will work with my Thinkpad 760XL. And to make matters worse, I can still
run windows on it :(
The new version of Xfree does not support the Trident 9385 chip set
which the ThinkPad has. I am very sad that a OS that I have been a
stanch supporter of for the past few years is now pulling a Microsoft
and forcing me to run Windows or upgrade my hardware.
Does anyone know a work around for this? I'm not sure if the older Xfree
will run on the newer kernel and if so that will be pain in the rear to
setup for each new release.
Guess it won't hurt of have one machine only for Windows though I really
hate that idea.
