If it does not like the nics then perhaps a few link sys nics would fix this
or intel nics. 3 com can sometimes be a pain.
You can get Link sys nic's for like 15.00 each at Best Buys works great!
The other nic you may have is a AMD nic which alot of these Compaq'a came
with. Even with Winblows and Novell they can be a pain to setup.
